Parish Council Meeting, 17 May 2018
Residents raised the following points in the public question time at this month’s Parish Council meeting—
What is happening about the overhanging bushes in Greatfield by the Riff Bar that are making it dangerous for pedestrians to use the pavement?
This has been raised at an earlier meeting and will be followed up.
Why have there been no speed checks in Greatfield.
There is no area in Greatfield considered suitable by the police, and the speed check can only be in approved positions.
There is also a lack of volunteers from Greatfield, and it would assist if more could come forward.
What is happening about the virtual footpath proposal for Greatfield?
It has been explained that the lines are thought to be sight lines and not a virtual pavement, any proposal for improvements to highways etc. would be subject to funding and other suitability Criteria. There may be the possibility of putting a SIDS machine at Greatfield on occasion (possibly at Walfins) if the parish acquires one. Councillor Groom drew attention to possibility of area board contributing to funding of any prospective footpath or highways projects.
When is the road surface in the Beeches going to be fixed?
Apparently, the contractors are still working on last year’s programme, but it is ear-marked for completion.
