Following the recent advice from the Chief Medical & Scientific Officers and Government announced yesterday Lydiard Millicent Parish Council has reluctantly taken the decision to postpone the Annual Litter Pick and cancel its Full Council meeting on 2nd April 2020.  Information and advice is changing rapidly and we will endevour to keep this page up to date.

6.00pm Wednesday, 18th March 2020  :  UPDATE

Wiltshire Council have taken the decision, in line with Government guidelines, to postpone the Referendum until further notice.  They apologise for the late notice but this was a very difficult decision to make knowing how important this referendum is to electors of Lydiard Millicent.

As of 6.30pm today (Tuesday 17th March 2020) the Referendum to decide the Lydiard Millicent Neighbourhood Plan is still going to be held, although we are getting constant updates.

The Electoral Commission have advised that all polls will be postponed once Royal Assent has been granted; until that time polls should continue.  It is not yet known how long it will take to get Royal Assent, if this is obtained in the next 36 hours this site will be updated.

In the meantime, apologies for this uncertainty we are all trying to follow the fast moving advice being issued, and stay safe whether self isolating, or working.

In any normal poll there is the opportunity to request an emergency proxy vote.  There are two situations when an emergency proxy vote can be applied for:

A medical emergency

Due to changes in occupation

It may be possible for those who have been directed to isolate themselves to request a proxy vote if there is someone available to vote on your behalf.  Application forms must be returned to the Elections Office before 5pm tomorrow. The forms can be seen by clicking the links above. The Elections Officers at Wiltshire Council are the experts and will be able to advise so please be guided by their response.
