The Final Coutdown

A neighhbourhood plan for Lydiard Millicent Parish is nearly there, with the launch of its pre-submission consultation this week.

If you haven't made your comments, now is the time to. And, if you have already commented, take a moment to review this revision - the steering group have made changes over the many months they've worked on the plan to reflect views and comments made during earlier consultations and through community engagement.

Chair of the Steering Group, Mike Sharp said "We have at last gone out to Consultation. This is a legal step we have to take on the route to
getting our Plan passed by the inspector to allow us to have a referendum where you will be asked to vote on accepting the Neighbourhood Plan.

The consultation started on 17th December and will be open for comments until 1st February and a leaflet giving details has been sent to all addresses in the Parish.. This is a little bit longer than the statutory 6 weeks to allow for the Christmas break. The plan can be viewed at www.lmpneighbourhoodplan.wordpress.com, or a hard copy can be viewed at several locations around the parish including the Parish Office at the JCH. Any comments can be sent to neighbourhoodplan@lydiardmillicent-pc.gov.uk or handed in to the Parish Office or posted to

After the consultation any amendments needed will be made, then it will be submitted to Wiltshire Council. If all goes well we would anticipate finalising the plan and going to referendum in March. A positive vote then means that our views have to be taken into  consideration when Wiltshire Council determine planning applications. "
