"Wales and West Utilities have setup a work site at Holborn to carryout works to the gas supply pipe that straddles the stream beside the bridge. The works will commence 19th June with planned completion 11th July according to the Wales and West Utilities Customer Service desk.

Traffic management has been set up and will remain in  place for the duration of the works 24/7.  It has been pointed out to the Contractor that this road has heavy traffic twice a day morning and evening and that large vehicles such as school and corporation buses as well as the odd delivery lorry use this road, this may cause major disruption at these times. It was also pointed out that no local residents had received notification that the works were to start although may have received a general letter 3 to 4 months ago to advise that works may be carried out some time in the future!

For information Utility companies do not have to register in advance works or traffic management plans as their works are usually of an urgent nature and the time scales to carryout notifications would delay any works."?
